About

Ranchi has always had more going on than the rest of the country realises. Great food, underrated trails, hidden cafes, local festivals that don’t make it to any national travel list — and until recently, almost none of it was documented properly online.
That’s why we built this.

We’re From Here

Ranchi Trails is run by people who were born and brought up in Ranchi. Not travel writers who visited for a weekend. Not content teams writing from a city far away. We’ve lived here for over 20 years each; we grew up on these streets, ate at these restaurants before they had Google listings, and watched this city grow into something genuinely worth talking about.

Abhijeet Pandit started Ranchi Trails because he was tired of searching for something specific about Ranchi — a good place to eat, a trail to explore, or a local event — and finding either nothing or results so outdated they were useless. The idea was simple: one place for everything in Ranchi. If you need to know something about this city, it should be here.

Today, Ranchi Trails is written by a small team of Ranchi locals. Every person who contributes to this site has lived in Ranchi for 20+ years. We write about places we’ve actually been to, so you get to experience Ranchi in the best way possible.

How We Cover Ranchi

Before anything gets published on this site, someone from our team has visited it in person. Every restaurant, every cafe, every trail. If we haven’t been there ourselves, it doesn’t go up.

Beyond personal visits, we cross-verify every listing against multiple platforms — Google Maps, Zomato, Tripadvisor, Swiggy, MagicPin, JustDial, and more — to confirm ratings, working hours, and whether a place is still actually open. We don’t publish based on a single source.

We update our content regularly. If a restaurant closes or a cafe changes ownership, we want to know about it — and we want that reflected on our pages before you make a trip based on our recommendation.

What You’ll Find Here

Ranchi Trails covers the full picture of life in this city:

  • Food & Dining — restaurants, cafes, street food, and everything worth eating in Ranchi
  • Travel & Places — waterfalls, trails, temples, forests, and day trips from Ranchi
  • Events — local festivals, concerts, and things happening in the city
  • Lifestyle — shopping, wellness, and services worth knowing about
  • Education — colleges, universities, and career resources for students in Ranchi

Whether you’re a Ranchi local looking for something new or someone visiting the city for the first time, this is the guide we wish had existed when we needed it.

Our Editorial Promise

We do not accept payment for rankings or recommendations. No restaurant or business can pay to appear on our lists, and no sponsored content is published without being clearly labelled as such.

Our rankings are based on real data — review volumes, ratings across multiple platforms, and first-hand visits. If a place deserves to be at the top of a list, it earns that position. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t appear, regardless of who asks.

This is a site built on trust. We’d rather publish less and get it right than flood the internet with content we can’t stand behind.
